Overview
The Ultimate Lao Odyssey
Prepare for the most definitive cycling experience in Southeast Asia. The 21-Day Explore Northern and Southern Laos by Bike is a grand expedition designed for those who believe that the best way to understand a country is from the saddle of a bicycle. Over three weeks, you will traverse the entire length of the "Land of a Million Elephants," witnessing a dramatic transition from the jagged limestone peaks and misty ethnic villages of the North to the sun-drenched coffee plantations and cascading waterfalls of the South.
This journey is far more than a physical challenge; it is a cultural deep-dive. In the North, you will conquer legendary mountain passes, pedaling through the remote provinces of Paksan and Phonsavan. You will stand in awe before the mysterious Plain of Jars and navigate the serpentine roads that lead to the UNESCO World Heritage town of Luang Prabang. The northern leg tests your mettle with rewarding climbs and exhilarating descents through landscapes that feel frozen in time.
As we transition to the South, the pace shifts. After a short flight to Pakse, the scenery transforms into the lush, fertile lands of the Bolaven Plateau. Here, the scent of blooming coffee blossoms fills the air as you cycle toward some of Asia’s tallest waterfalls, including the majestic Tad Fane. The grand finale takes place in the 4000 Islands (Si Phan Don), where the Mekong River fractures into a labyrinth of waterways. Cycling through Khong and Khone Islands offers a serene conclusion to your epic journey, punctuated by remnants of French colonial history and the thunderous Khone Phapheng—the largest waterfall by volume in Southeast Asia.
Throughout these 21 days, you will be supported by professional guides and a dedicated vehicle, ensuring that while the route is challenging, your experience is seamless, safe, and profoundly life-changing.

Reviews
Cycling is the ultimate way to explore Laos! Whether it’s pedaling through misty mountains or stopping by hidden temples, this tour gave me an unforgettable experience. Laos is full of surprises, and I’m so glad I chose this adventure!
Fantastic itinerary, lots packed in. Great scenery, cycling, historic sights, food and hotels. Very dedicated local team. I particularly enjoyed the optional mountain hike and hot air balloon ride. Team went out of their way to assist with my extension to Vietnam after the trip had ended. Some slightly long driving legs between the cycling on very poor roads.
