Overview
Embark on the ultimate cross-border odyssey through three of Southeast Asia’s most captivating nations. This 23-day Grand Indochina Cycling expedition starts in the spiritual heart of Laos, Luang Prabang, and concludes in the bustling metropolis of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This journey is meticulously designed for those who seek to go beyond the tourist trail, combining physical challenge with deep cultural immersion.
Our adventure begins by traversing the dramatic limestone mountains of Northern Laos, conquering high-altitude passes before descending into the tranquil Vang Vieng and the relaxed capital of Vientiane. From there, we fly south to explore the fertile Bolaven Plateau, famous for its world-class coffee and thunderous waterfalls like Tad Fane. We then follow the path of the mighty Mekong River through the mythical 4,000 Islands (Si Phan Don), a landscape of sheer serenity.
Crossing into Cambodia, the journey turns wilder. We cycle through the remote provinces of Stung Treng and Kratie, where you have the rare opportunity to spot the endangered Irrawaddy Dolphins. A major highlight of this itinerary is our detour into the highlands of Mondulkiri. Here, you will experience the "wild east" of Cambodia, visiting Elephant Valleys and the stunning Bou Sra Waterfall. After exploring the tragic yet resilient history of Phnom Penh, we transition to the water.
The final leg takes us across the border via a scenic speed boat to Chau Doc, Vietnam. The scenery shifts to the vibrant green patchworks of the Mekong Delta. We cycle along narrow canal paths, through fruit orchards, and across rustic ferries, experiencing the legendary hospitality of the Vietnamese people in Can Tho, Tra Vinh, and My Tho, before celebrating our achievement in the heart of Saigon.
