Tour Plan
1-day mountain biking (L)
Meet your guide early morning and we'll get you fitted and sorted on of our quality mountain bikes. We start with a short ride on tarmac to warm up before we get on the single dirt track. We climb up through the jungle for a few kilometers.
You can stop at many viewpoints to catch your breath and some great pics. What goes up must come down and with an 1100m elevation, it's a big down. You'll feel safe in your helmet and thankful your bike has good brakes.
The guide knows a great spot for a picnic lunch, there are no villages nearby so we bring a delicious packed lunch. After lunch the scenery changes at every bend... valleys, mountains, bamboo forests, and farmland covered in small thatched huts.
At the end of the day as you approach civilization again you can enjoy ice-cold drinks before returning to the starting point on tarmac with only one more hill before the downward ride to Luang Prabang.
This tour is a challenge for non-experienced mountain bikers and is rated as difficult. The route is hilly with a 1100m elevation gain. Partly shady. Can be muddy after rain. 4-5 hours (35km) on single track and 2 hours on tarmac.
Cycling through Laos with Golden Cycling Tours was beyond amazing! The slow pace allowed us to enjoy nature and engage with local communities. Everything was professionally arranged, and the guides were outstanding!
