Overview

The 10-Day Phuket to Kuala Lumpur Cycling Expedition is a premier cross-border odyssey designed for the intrepid traveler who seeks to conquer the heart of the Malay Peninsula on two wheels. This journey is a masterclass in variety, transitioning seamlessly from the turquoise waters of the Andaman Sea in Southern Thailand to the misty, tea-covered slopes of Malaysia’s Cameron Highlands, before concluding in the high-octane metropolis of Kuala Lumpur. Covering over 700 kilometers of diverse terrain, this expedition offers an unparalleled deep dive into the soul of two distinct Southeast Asian nations.

Your adventure begins on the world-famous island of Phuket, where we quickly move away from the tourist hubs to explore the raw natural beauty of Than Bok Kherani National Park and the iconic limestone karsts of Krabi. As we pedal southward, the landscape shifts from coastal vistas to the vibrant cultural melting pot of Southern Thailand. The crossing into Malaysia marks a significant milestone, as we enter the UNESCO World Heritage streets of Georgetown, Penang, a city renowned for its street art, colonial history, and world-class culinary scene.

The challenge reaches its peak as we leave the coastal plains and begin a rewarding climb into the Cameron Highlands. At 1,500 meters above sea level, the cool air and emerald-green tea plantations provide a refreshing contrast to the tropical lowlands. The final leg of our journey is an exhilarating descent through the jungle and rural towns toward the magnificent skyline of Kuala Lumpur. From the serenity of ancient rainforests to the neon-lit Petronas Twin Towers, this 10-day tour is the ultimate way to witness the cultural and geographical diversity of Thailand and Malaysia.
