Overview
Prepare yourself for the most ambitious and rewarding cycling expedition in Southeast Asia. Our 15-Day Grand North Vietnam Cycling Loop is a masterclass in adventure travel, designed for those who want to conquer every iconic landscape the Vietnamese northern frontier has to offer. This journey is not just a tour; it is a legendary crossing that links the "Cloud Kingdom" of Sapa and Y Ty with the "Stone Desert" of Ha Giang and the turquoise cascades of Ban Gioc.
Spanning over two weeks, this itinerary traverses the entire arc of the northern mountains. You will begin in the lush, terraced valleys of Sapa, meeting the Black H'mong and Giay people, before heading into the mysterious, mist-shrouded borderlands of Y Ty. As we move eastward, the terrain shifts into the technical trails of Bac Ha and the UNESCO-recognized rice terraces of Hoang Su Phi, where the mountainside is sculpted into thousands of golden steps.
The heart of the adventure lies in the Ha Giang Loop, specifically the Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark. Here, you will pedal through a lunar landscape of jagged limestone peaks, conquering the formidable Ma Pi Leng Pass—often cited as the most beautiful road in Vietnam. The final leg of the journey takes you into Cao Bang province to witness the majestic Ban Gioc Waterfall, the largest trans-border waterfall in Asia, before looping back through the historic frontier towns of Lang Son.
Throughout this epic 15-day loop, you will be supported by a professional team, stay in a mix of boutique lodges and authentic ethnic homestays, and fuel your journey with the finest local cuisine. This is the ultimate test for your legs and a feast for your soul—a true "Grand Tour" of Vietnam’s northern soul.
