Overview
A Three-Week Masterpiece of Adventure and Culture
The 21-Day Grand Cycle Tour from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi is not just a holiday; it is the definitive bucket-list achievement for any serious cyclist. Spanning the entire length of the S-shaped nation, this three-week expedition offers an unparalleled deep dive into the soul of Vietnam. While most travelers see the country through a train or bus window, you will experience it through every sense—smelling the salt of the South China Sea, feeling the cool mountain mist of the Central Highlands, and seeing the intricate patterns of the Northern Red River Delta from the best seat in the house: your bicycle saddle.
Your journey begins in the vibrant, high-energy metropolis of Saigon, but quickly shifts to the serene, pine-scented altitudes of Dalat. From there, you will face the exhilarating challenge of mountain-to-sea descents, sweeping through the Hon Giao Pass toward the sun-bleached dunes of Mui Ne and the turquoise bays of Nha Trang. As the weeks progress, you will trace the historic Ho Chi Minh Road and coastal ribbons through Quy Nhon and Quang Ngai, witness the haunting history of My Lai, and lose yourself in the ancient, lantern-lit charm of Hoi An.
The second half of your odyssey brings you to the legendary Hai Van Pass, a rite of passage for every world cyclist, before exploring the imperial secrets of Hue. A flight transition to the North opens a new chapter of rugged beauty. You will pedal through the prehistoric jungles of Cuc Phuong National Park, navigate the limestone "mountains in the sea" of Ninh Binh, and explore the unique Phat Diem Stone Cathedral. The grand finale takes you into the wild heart of Cat Ba National Park for a multi-sport adventure of biking, hiking, and boating, culminating in a majestic cruise through Halong Bay. Supported by our professional mechanical team and expert guides, this 21-day tour is the ultimate testament to the spirit of adventure.

Known by its former name, Saigon, Ho Chi Minh City is known as "the pearl of the Far East." One of the most memorable place names in Asia is undoubtedly Saigon, the biggest and busiest city in Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh City has the most Western atmosphere of any Vietnamese city. When you get to the hotel, sign in and enjoy some alone time. If time allows, we will spend a half-day exploring some of the most notable locations in Ho Chi Minh City, including the War Remnants Museum, the Sai Gon Central Post Office, Independence Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, and Ben Thanh Market. Golden Cycling Tours organized the trip wonderfully! The ride from Ho Chi Minh City through Vietnam’s diverse landscapes was smooth and full of breathtaking views.
Authentic and exquisite!. We were given tours of the most private areas in Vietnam by local riders. The tour was ideal because of the food selections, snacks, and ongoing instruction. Having an English-speaking guide helped us understand history, culture, and current affairs better than we could have imagined.
