Tour Plan

Expand All

Morning: The Fragrant River and the Sacred Bell

  • Route: Hue City Center - Kim Long Village - Thien Mu Pagoda - Thuy Bieu Village

  • Cycling Distance: ~15 km

  • Road Condition: Flat, asphalt roads, paved countryside paths, very light traffic

  • Elevation Gain: Negligible (mostly flat terrain)

Your adventure begins at 08:00 AM when our friendly tour guide and support team meet you at your hotel. After a short transfer to our starting point, we will conduct a brief safety orientation and custom-fit your premium bicycle.

We push off and immediately leave the modern city behind, crossing over to the northern bank of the Perfume River. We pedal into the historic Kim Long Village, famous for its lush fruit orchards and ancient wooden houses. Here, the roads are narrow, quiet, and shaded by pomelo trees. Feel the cool morning air as you glide effortlessly along the riverbank.

Our first major stop is Thien Mu Pagoda, the unofficial symbol of Hue. Standing proudly on Ha Khe hill overlooking the river, this active monastery dates back to 1601. As you walk through the temple gates, your senses are greeted by the deep aroma of burning sandalwood incense and the soft, rhythmic chanting of Buddhist monks. Take some time to photograph the elegant, octagonal Phuoc Duyen Tower and enjoy the sweeping view of the tranquil river below.

Leaving the pagoda, we pedal deeper into the countryside, crossing rustic bridges and riding past sleepy local markets where friendly vendors will wave and greet you with warm smiles.

Midday: Feasting in a Royal Oasis

  • Route: Thuy Bieu Village - Hue Garden House

  • Cycling Distance: ~5 km

  • Road Condition: Paved village tracks, garden pathways, completely car-free

  • Elevation Gain: Flat

By midday, our path leads us into Thuy Bieu, an ancient eco-village renowned for its traditional architecture and sweet "Thanh Tra" pomelo orchards. The cycling here is incredibly relaxing, with sunbeams filtering through the thick canopy of leaves overhead.

We stop at a beautifully restored, centuries-old Hue Garden House. These architectural masterpieces are designed according to strict feng shui principles, blending harmoniously with nature. Here, you will be invited to rest your legs and indulge in a hand-crafted traditional Hue lunch. Every dish is a work of art, featuring fresh garden vegetables, fragrant herbs, and local specialties. After lunch, enjoy a soothing foot bath infused with warm, medicinal herbs gathered directly from the garden—the ultimate recovery for a cyclist's muscles.

Afternoon: Tombs of Kings and Colors of the Past

  • Route: Hue Garden House - Tu Duc Tomb - Thuy Xuan Village - Vong Canh Hill - Hue City

  • Cycling Distance: ~15 km

  • Road Condition: Rolling asphalt roads, gentle climbs, paved hillside paths

  • Elevation Gain: ~80 meters (short, gentle climbs)

Rejuvenated and ready, we mount our bikes for the afternoon journey. The terrain changes slightly as we pedal toward the pine-forested hills of southwestern Hue, where the Nguyen emperors built their final resting places.

Our destination is the magnificent Royal Tomb of Tu Duc. This is widely considered the most romantic and beautiful of all the dynastic tombs. As you walk through the pine groves, past peaceful lakes covered in lotus flowers, and into the grand stone pavilions, you will understand why Emperor Tu Duc used this estate as his private retreat during his lifetime. The architecture blends seamlessly with the natural landscape, evoking a powerful sense of peace and melancholy.

Just a short ride from the tomb lies Thuy Xuan Incense Village, a explosion of vibrant colors that is an absolute dream for photographers. Here, thousands of hand-rolled incense sticks are arranged in brilliant, blooming bouquets of pink, yellow, blue, and green along the roadside. You will have the unique chance to sit down with a local artisan, learn the delicate art of hand-rolling incense, and listen to stories about this centuries-old tradition.

Our final cycling segment takes us up a gentle incline to the summit of Vong Canh Hill. Standing at this lookout point, you will be rewarded with one of the most breathtaking vistas in Vietnam: a dramatic, horseshoe bend of the Perfume River cutting through green hills, with distant mountains framing the horizon. It is the perfect spot to reflect on the day's journey.

We enjoy a scenic, mostly downhill ride back into the heart of Hue, passing by the outer stone ramparts of the historic Imperial Citadel as the afternoon sun casts a warm, golden glow over the ancient city walls. We arrive back at your hotel around 05:00 PM, completing your unforgettable day in Hue.
