Overview
A TROPICAL ESCAPE TO THE RICE BOWL
Unplug from the high-octane energy of Ho Chi Minh City and surrender to the rhythmic pulse of the "Rice Bowl of Asia." Our 2-Day Mekong Delta Bike Trip is a masterclass in slow travel, specifically designed for those who want to maximize their experience in a limited time. This journey takes you from the bustling streets of Saigon deep into the emerald heart of My Tho and the vibrant water-world of Can Tho.
This is not just a tour; it is a sensory awakening. Over two spectacular days, you will trade the roar of motorbikes for the gentle rustle of coconut palms and the cheerful greetings of local children. You will navigate a labyrinth of secret paths, cross mighty rivers on local ferries, and witness the timeless traditions of the Delta's residents. From the fruit-laden islands of My Tho to the legendary sunrise spectacle of the Cai Rang Floating Market, this tour offers an unrivaled perspective of Southern Vietnam that only the seat of a bicycle can provide.
We avoid the busy highways entirely, opting instead for a network of hidden village lanes and canal-side tracks where you can absorb the sights of cottage industries—from coconut shredders to rice paper makers. Whether you are tasting exotic fruits straight from the branch or pedaling along the banks of the Hau River, this 2-day expedition with Golden Cycling Tours offers the ultimate balance of physical activity and profound cultural enlightenment.

Tour Plan
-
Route: Saigon – My Tho – Cai Be – Cho Lach – Can Tho
-
Cycling Distance: ~ 40 km
-
Road Condition: Flat, narrow cement village paths, shaded lanes, and quiet secondary roads.
Your journey begins at 7:30 AM with a meet-up at your hotel. We leave the city’s roar behind in our support van for a 2-hour transfer to My Tho, the historic gateway to the Mekong. By transferring, we bypass the heavy urban traffic, ensuring your first pedal stroke is in the peaceful countryside.
As we unload the bikes, the air changes instantly. We start our ride along the beautiful and quiet country lanes skirting the Tien River. This is the heart of the rural Mekong; you will pedal through a lush landscape of banana plantations and emerald sugarcane fields. The route is a labyrinth of narrow lanes where the only sounds are the wind through the palms and the greeting of locals. We push toward Cai Be, where the riverine life is most active. The climax of the morning is boarding the Dinh Khao Ferry to Cho Lach, a picturesque crossing that offers panoramic views of the vast river. After a few more kilometers of cycling through vibrant hamlets, we shuttle the final leg to Can Tho, the "Western Capital," where you can enjoy a sunset by the Ninh Kieu wharf.
-
Highlight: Cycling the Tien River lanes and the scenic Dinh Khao ferry crossing into the deep Delta.
