Itinerary

Tour Plan
Setting the Pace: The Ascent to Silver Waterfall Your Sapa Bike Ride Half Day begins with a pickup at your hotel at 08:30 AM (or 01:30 PM). After a quick gear check, we hit the road, immediately heading northwards on National Road 4D. This initial stretch is an invigorating uphill climb that serves as a perfect warm-up. As you pedal, you'll be flanked by walled-up mountains blanketed in dense, emerald rainforest.
Our first major stop is the legendary Silver Waterfall. This natural wonder is an impressive sight, with white water crashing down the mountainside like a silver ribbon. We recommend ascending the steps to a higher elevation point; from here, the view of the terraced paddies dotting the deep valley below is simply spectacular, offering a stark contrast between the power of the water and the meticulous work of the local farmers.
Reaching the Summit: Heaven Gate & Tram Ton Pass Leaving the waterfall behind, we dig deep for the most rewarding part of the climb. We continue for several more kilometers as the road spirals upward toward the renowned Heaven Gate and Tram Ton Pass. Sitting at an impressive elevation, this is officially the highest mountain pass in Vietnam.
When you reach the summit, the world opens up. You will take a well-deserved pause to revel in the breathtaking scenery that unfolds on both sides of the Hoang Lien Son mountain range. To one side, you see the winding road you just conquered; to the other, the deep, sun-drenched valleys leading toward Lai Chau. It is a moment of pure triumph and the perfect spot for "top-of-the-world" photography.
The Descent: O Quy Ho’s Everlasting Greenery After savoring the views at the peak, it’s time for the thrill of the descent. We leave the Heaven Gate behind and enjoy a 7-kilometer downhill route, where you can let gravity do the work. We make a fascinating stop at the lush farms of O Quy Ho. This area is the "green lung" of Sapa, where the unique microclimate allows medicinal plants, vibrant flowers, and fruit trees to thrive year-round. You'll have the opportunity to visit these vibrant farms, witnessing how the local community has turned these steep slopes into a productive, evergreen paradise.
The ride concludes with a final scenic stretch back into Sapa town. We will drop you off at your hotel, marking the completion of your captivating journey. Reflect on the incredible sights and memories you’ve gathered—from the thundering falls to the highest peaks—all within one unforgettable half-day adventure.
One of the best cycling tours I’ve done! The Sapa countryside is absolutely stunning, and cycling through it was an incredible experience. The guide from Golden Cycling Tours was fantastic, and the bikes were in perfect condition. Highly recommended!
