Overview

The 28-Day Northern Indochina Cycling Odyssey is a masterpiece of adventure travel, meticulously designed for those who want to experience the raw beauty and deep-rooted traditions of Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam in a single, epic sweep. This journey is not just a physical challenge; it is a cultural immersion that takes you from the "Rose of the North," Chiang Mai, through the misty peaks of the Golden Triangle, across the mystical landscapes of Eastern Laos, and into the lush, terraced valleys of Northern Vietnam, before arriving in the thousand-year-old city of Hanoi.

The expedition begins in the Lanna heartland of Northern Thailand, where you will warm up on the winding roads of Chiang Dao and witness the artistic brilliance of Chiang Rai. After crossing the Mekong into Laos, the pace shifts. You will experience the serenity of a slow boat journey to Pakbeng, cycle through the stunning karst scenery of Nong Khiaw, and find spiritual peace in the UNESCO World Heritage town of Luang Prabang. From there, we push south toward the adventure capital of Vang Vieng and the quiet riverside capital, Vientiane.

The true "off-the-beaten-path" adventure begins as we turn east toward the mysterious Plain of Jars in Phonsavan and the revolutionary history of the Vieng Xai caves in Sam Neua. This remote region of Laos offers some of the most rewarding and untouched cycling in Southeast Asia. We conclude our journey by crossing into Vietnam at the Na Meo border, descending into the breathtaking Pu Luong Nature Reserve and the stilt-house villages of Mai Chau. The final celebratory ride brings us into Hanoi, marking the end of a 28-day epic that covers thousands of kilometers of memory-making terrain.
