Overview

Prepare to lose yourself in a world of jagged limestone peaks, emerald rivers, and legendary mountain passes with our "Exploring Cao Bang by Bicycle - 7 Days." This journey is a deep dive into the UNESCO Global Geopark in Cao Bang, a region often described as the "mystical frontier" of Vietnam. Designed for those who seek the perfect harmony of physical challenge and raw, natural beauty, this tour offers a perspective of the North-East that few travelers ever witness.

Over seven epic days, you will pedal through the soul of the highlands. We begin in the lush, iconic valley of Bac Son, before heading toward the Chinese border to stand in awe of the Ban Gioc Waterfall, the fourth largest border-crossing waterfall in the world. But the true spirit of this adventure lies in the "Queen Stages"—conquering the legendary Na Tenh Pass and the world-famous 15-story Khau Coc Tra (Coc Cha) Pass, a marvel of engineering that switchbacks up a vertical mountainside like a giant stone serpent.

Beyond the climbs, you will trace the footsteps of history at the Pac Bo Cave, where the modern history of Vietnam began, and navigate the serene backroads of Ha Quang and Bao Lac. Your journey concludes with a tranquil recovery session on a private boat across Ba Be Lake, the largest natural freshwater lake in the country. Supported by our professional crew, top-tier mountain bikes, and authentic ethnic homestays, this is more than a tour—it is a seven-day odyssey through the most mystical landscapes of Indochina.

Highlights

  • Conquer the 15-Story Legend: Test your limits on the Khau Coc Tra (Coc Cha) Pass, featuring 15 layers of hair-raising switchbacks and breathtaking panoramas.

  • Ban Gioc Waterfall Majesty: Feel the power of nature at the world's 4th largest border waterfall, a thundering masterpiece of jade-green water.

  • Ba Be Lake Serenity: Conclude your tour with a private boat trip through the limestone canyons and emerald waters of Ba Be National Park.

  • Authentic Cultural Stays: Experience the hospitality of the Tay, Nung, and Hmong people in traditional stilt houses.

The 7 day Cao Bang Loop tour was so incredible!! We visited all of the top places that have been on my bucket list for so long. The scenery is incredible and it felt very authentic. Unlike other places that feel like they’re only there for tourism, this trip felt like we were truly seeing local life. The food was amazing, the homestays were great, and the drivers were a lot of fun. The staff was beyond helpful, especially Hung, she helped me book all of my transportation and went above and beyond to make sure I had a great time. I highly recommend you do this tour when you visit northern Vietnam.
