Laos, Luang Prabang Bikes, Elephants, Kayaks, & Homestay 2 Days | Get to Know the Nam Khan River Valley
Tour Plan
Size up at our Golden Cycling Tours bike shop on one of our quality mountain bikes and head out of town with your guide. Our first stop is at the “Golden Stupa” temple, Wat Phon Phao, with a birds-eye view of the city and gorgeous grounds – one of the few temples in the area with nuns. A short distance further we visit Ban Phanom, historically the King’s preferred silk hand-weaving village. You’ll even get a chance to see the resting site of Henri Mouhot, the French explorer who popularized Angkor Wat.
The last stretch of our ride takes us into the Nam Khan River valley with stunning mountains, waterfalls, elephants, and a river flowing through it. Take a break at our Golden Cycling Tours Camp on the banks of the river then take a boat up to the Tad Sae waterfall. Here you can enjoy the clear spring water which invites you for a refreshing bath. Experience an unforgettable interactive experience with Asian elephants (no riding).
Reenergize with lunch at the falls before a 1.5-hour trek into the “Fair Trek” Project area where communities directly profit from your visit. Your homestay in the foothills of a large mountain gives you an unforgettable firsthand chance to know the culture and traditions of the Khamu people in a picturesque landscape.
